Our Pilates Instructor Training Program is designed for those who want to deepen their understanding of the human body, movement, and the healing power of Pilates. Philosophy Towards the Curriculum

Learning the exercises is key, of course, but the underlying anatomy, physiology and significance of each movement creates a depth of understanding that will make your Pilates instruction stand above the rest.

The program is demanding, as it should be. It is designed to challenge your knowledge of yourself and your own movement. By the end you will be more than just a Pilates Instructor, but on a journey to becoming a movement expert.

Mat Pilates Modules
    • 80 hours of classroom instruction 
    • 20 hours of practice teaching 
    • 10 hours of self-practice 
    • 16 hours of written assignments

 

Reformer Modules

50 classroom hours of instruction that includes Reformer Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced exercises,  class programming (variations and modifications), cueing techniques.

Testing

Written and practical exams are included in tuition as well as Practical Exam Prep Lab (5 hrs). Exams must be done within 6 months of in class modules completion.

Course Materials

Anatomy of Movement book and anatomy cards must be purchased by students. Study notes and assignments are provided by the instructor. Exercise library is available in online portal.

Lead Instructor Trainer

Janet Lemon Williams has a depth and breadth of experience, knowledge and expertise in Pilates and in the greater study of the body in movement.

Janet holds a Master’s degree in Movement Therapy (also known as Dance/Movement Therapy [DMT]) and is a registered Dance/Movement Therapist (DTR) with the American Dance/Movement Therapy Association (ADTA).

Janet has been an academic much of her life, holding an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate and has studied education and teaching as well as teaching hundreds of undergraduate students. Her understanding of how the adult human brain learns is beneficial in teaching at any age. 

As a Pilates Professional/Movement Therapist Janet has worked in Psychiatric and other clinical settings since 1991 including chiropractic clinics, yoga studios, fitness facilities, schools, conferences and private practice. She works with a range of clients that include those challenged by chronic or acute pain, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, ADHD, ASD, PTSD, anxiety and depression. 

Janet uses Pilates as a means of treatment along with her expertise in developmental movement, movement analysis and other movement therapy techniques. She has over 10 years experience in training Pilates Instructors. Her graduates run studios across Canada, have been personal Pilates instructors to celebrities such as Celine Dion and for Cirque de Soleil.

Supporting Instructor

Zhanna, a Certified Pilates Instructor and movement educator whose journey began through postnatal recovery. With over 8 years of experience helping clients improve strength, recover from injuries, improve posture, and mobility, she brings a compassionate and functional approach to every class.


Zhanna is known for her calm, encouraging teaching style and her ability to make movement accessible, empowering, and deeply effective. She loves to share her passion for movement being an integrative and therapeutic approach to an active and pain free lifestyle.
